ECON 1420 - LABOR ECONOMICS Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This is an advanced elective course on labor economics for undergraduate students. The purpose of the course is to apply the analytical tools from intermediate microeconomic theory to analyze how society develops, allocates and rewards human resources, and to study a wide range of labor-related issues, such as labor supply; household production and labor force participation; labor demand; minimum wages; labor market discrimination; compensating wage differentials; schooling and earnings; wage inequality, and immigration. Emphasis will also be given to the empirical evidence on those topics.
