Aquatics Minor

The Aquatic Minor prepares students to assume responsibilities related to aquatics in many areas which is beneficial to those who pursue careers in coaching, recreation,  physical therapy and aquatic rehabilitation, recreational management, or exercise science.  This professional preparation provides coursework and exposure to aquatics-related teaching, administration, and coaching. 

The Aquatic minor will also prepare students to earn certifications that are now becoming requirements for aquatic-related positions. Following completion, the Aquatic minor can certify students in American Red Cross Instructor courses (Water Safety, Lifeguard, and CPR/First Aid) .  The minor will also provide opportunity to pursue the Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification as well as United States Swimming Safety Training for Swim Coaches and other coaching certifications.
