NUR 0088 - INTRODUCTION TO BASIC STATISTICS FOR EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course introduces students to descriptive statistics and parametric and nonparametric statistical tests that are commonly used by researchers in the health sciences and appear in published research reports. Emphasis is placed on student mastery of concepts and principles that are fundamental to descriptive and inferential statistics, as well as interpretation and critical appraisal of their use in research studies. Opportunities are provided to manipulate data, perform basic statistical tests, and summarize findings in tabular, graphical, and narrative form.
