NON-Teacher Certification


The NON-Teacher Certification ARCO is designed for students who are enrolled in the CASE 4+1 program, which is designed to prepare students for professional licensure as a PK-12 Special Education and a PK-4 General Education teacher in Pennsylvania, but who are not able to complete their student teaching requirements that are part of the major. Only students who have been admitted into the CASE major within the Teacher Certification ARCO are eligible to switch to this pathway.

General Education Coursework


The CASE BS degree follows the Dietrich general education requirements.

Foundational Courses


These courses are foundational education credits and can be taken beforeadmittance into the major officially. HHD 1002 and TLL 1041 are required. Studentsare required to take either EFOP 1001 or TLL 1581

Major-Area Coursework: Methods Classes


These are courses that should only be taken by students in a teacher educationprogram. The Department of Education in PA only allows teacher education majorsto take methods coursework.​​​​​​​

ARCO Electives


A student in the non-certification ARCO is required to complete additional electives from the School of Education approved by their advisor to complete 51 total credits in the major.
