Law - Human Rights Law, Micro-Credential

The Micro-credential in Human Rights Law will focus on subjects relating to the protection of human rights under domestic and international law. Credits taken in this micro-credential will also count toward the student’s general LL.M. degree. Because all Micro-credit courses are also regular law school courses, and because the LL.M. degree is usually completed within 12 months, there is no limit on the number of credits that can count toward both a Micro-credential and the general LL.M degree. All Micro-Credential credits earned (with a grade of C or higher) will be valid to court toward the LL.M. degree for two years. 9 required credits for the micro-credential.

Curriculum:

Completion of this micro-credential will require that students take at least nine credit hours, with a grade of C or higher, in courses drawn from the following rubric: Philosophy of Crime and Punishment - National and International Perspective, Legal Institutions and the Holocaust, Conflict of Laws, International Human Rights Law, International Law, Law of Slavery, Abolition & Freedom Seminar, Federal Hate Crimes, Islamic Law and Jurisprudence Seminar, or similar courses approved by the CILE Director.
