Return to: School of Law The Master of Laws (LLM) degree provides foreign law graduates with critical training in the common law legal tradition and the U.S. legal system during an academic year at the University of Pittsburgh, located in Pittsburgh’s vibrant Oakland neighborhood. Pitt Law’s LLM program provides lawyers who have completed their law degree outside the United States with an opportunity to study the common law legal tradition and the U.S. legal system in the United States.
There are two ways to complete the Hybrid LLM Degree. Students may begin by completing one of the law school’s 15-credit online graduate certificates, and then coming to the Pitt campus to take 9 (or more) credits of required and elective classes in the course of one semester. Or, students may choose to come to campus first, complete 9 or more credits of required courses, and then complete an online certificate program.
