Global Health Certificate

This program educates students about current health patterns and transitions occurring globally, as well as about the role of dynamic global environmental, political, economic, health care, and social changes to these patterns.

The requirements for admission to the Global Health Certificate are equivalent to those for an MPH degree.

Required Courses


7 Credits

The certificate core courses cannot overlap with any other departmental requirement.  Overlap is permitted for the remaining required courses and these may also fulfill departmental requirements.

Field Practicum


1 Credit Minimum

Students must complete a field experience, which can be combined with the required practicum for the degree program provided the experience is relevant to global health. Students have the opportunity to complete this global health practicum in the form of local opportunities or in an international setting.

Elective Courses


1-7 Credits

Students select electives, as recommended by certificate advisor, that align with their specific area of interest and intended skillset.

Total Credits: 15
