NUR 1120 - ADV NUR MGT ACU/CPLX HLTH PROB Minimum Credits: 2 Maximum Credits: 2 This course focuses on the patient centered nursing care of adults experiencing acute and complex illnesses. Emphasis is placed on the prioritization and decision making processes of nursing care and the nursing responsibilities associated with translating, integrating and applying medical/surgical management, evaluation of outcomes, health promotion, and support for individuals and families experiencing acute and complex health problems. This course will also discuss the increasing diversity of this nation’s population as expressed through age, racial, ethnic, gender, cultural, spiritual and sexual orientation. Discussions will occur with the effect of socio-economic differences and how it may affect the patient’s overall health care. Discussion of interdisciplinary collaboration healthcare professional is emphasized.
