The most effective medical care of patients will be inextricably linked to the application of the most up-to-date knowledge. Optimal care will be patient-centered, and take fully into account the social determinants that influence health, illness and well-being. This new course directly supports learning about these subjects, at an opportune point in students’ professional development.
