NUR 3286 - THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS FOR RESEARCH Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course focuses upon the relationship of theory to research with an emphasis on the role of theory in the design and interpretation of research. The relationship between the development of science and theory is stressed. Attention is given to the evaluation of theory, the utility of theories in research, and the comparison of research strategies from various theoretical perspectives and the contribution of effect size. Emphasis is placed upon midrange, multidisciplinary theories relevant to clinical research.
