SWRES 3022 - RESEARCH METHODS: CAPSTONE SEMINAR 1 Minimum Credits: 1 Maximum Credits: 1 Research Capstone 1 involves instruction in the developmental process and refining of a research question and conceptualization attached to (1) data collected as part of the students’ GSA experience, or (2) secondary data available to the student. If neither of these sources of data is relevant, the student should register for 2-3 credits of directed study to enable the collection of new data that will be the basis for later data analysis and manuscript preparation to be conducted in research capstone 2 (SWRES 3023, 3 credits, Spring term). The Capstone 1 experience involves implementation of skills in the preparation and writing of an introduction section for an APA-style empirical research paper. The end product for this term is a well-written introduction for the study that will be completed in the Capstone 2 course.
