Gerontology Certificate

The gerontology certificate enhances MSW students’ understanding of the aging process and provides students with relevant skills to practice with and/or on behalf of the elderly. Knowing how to work with the elderly as a social work professional offers many opportunities at a time when this population is steadily increasing. A background in gerontology provides students with the tools to enter an occupation field with an expected growth rate of 22 percent over the next 10 years.
