Sustainable Business, Micro-Credential

Return to: Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business The Micro-Credential in Sustainable Business guides students to act as ethically responsible leaders. Students learn how companies manage their social (people), environmental (planet), and financial (profits) risks, obligations, and opportunities to positively impact both stakeholders and financial well-being. Those who have previously complete a Bachelor’s degree as well as current Pitt graduate students are eligible to apply.

Course Curriculum
The curriculum for the Sustainable Business Micro-Credential includes those that provide foundational knowledge in the specific business function of interest and a customizable set of elective coursework.
- Required credits: 4.5 credits
- Elective credits: 4.5 credits from list of approved KGSB elective courses, or alternate coursework, including from other Pitt schools, with faculty program director approval.
Students receive guidance from their academic advisor and area faculty to select courses that reflect their professional goals. Upon graduation, the students’ transcript will note the Credential which was completed, and a graduate may elaborate on their resume the credential(s) which they pursued.
Required Courses
The required courses for the micro-credential are BSEO 2578 Sustainable Business Strategy and BSPP 2328 The Business of Humanity®: Strategic Management in the Era of Globalization, Innovation, and Shared Value.
