Return to: School of Public Health This program is collaboration between the School of Social Work and the School of Public Health, Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences. Students graduate with both Master of Social Work and Master of Public Health degrees, and are prepared to pursue a wide range of social work and public health careers to improve the health of a target population and/or community.
The BCHS MPH/MSW joint degree typically is completed with a three-year curriculum plan for Direct Practice or COSA. The BCHS requirements for the MPH/MSW joint degree are listed below. Students should refer to the School of Social Work for the most current MSW program requirements.
- 45 Public Health credits (9 credits taken in Social Work can be applied to the 45 credit requirement ; 3 credits of field placement in place of BCHS 2503 and 6 credits of public health-relevant electives)
- 33 Social Work credits (plus 18 field placement credits)
