The proposed joint degree program will require that students complete all of the typical requirements for MQE program. Students will also complete all the required GSPIA MPA coursework, except for 3 quantitative courses whose content is replaced by the quantitative training in the MQE classes. Joint degree students also have the number of required MPA elective courses reduced by one relative to the normal MPA degree. Finally, both the MQE and MPA program require a capstone project. Joint degree students will be able to choose whether to do their capstone project through the MQE program or through the MPA program. Thus, the required plan of study is as follows:

MQE/MPA Joint Degree Requirements
All MQE/MPA students must complete an approved internship of at least 300 hours while enrolled at GSPIA. The internship must be approved by the student’s career advisors in advance. Students with at least three years of relevant full-time work experience may petition their career advisor for a waiver of this requirement during their first semester.
Plan of Study (if opting for GSPIA Capstone) 39 GSPIA credits & 27 MQE credits
Year 1 - Fall (15 credits)

GSPIA required Internship
All MQE/MPA students must complete an approved internship of at least 300 hours while enrolled at GSPIA. The internship must be approved by the student’s career advisors in advance. Students with at least three years of relevant full-time work experience may petition their career advisor for a waiver of this requirement during their first semester.
