EDUC 3104 - INTRODUCTION TO QUALITATIVE METHODS Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This seminar introduces students to the inquiry traditions (e.g. empirical, interpretive, critical) and modes of research (e.g. narrative, ethnographic, historical, rhetorical, linguistic) associated with qualitative research i the social sciences. Students will gain experience with various elements in the research process (formulation of questions; research design; data organization and reduction; data analysis; validity and reliability issues) and with research methods characteristic qualitative research. This course should be completed by the end of the students’ second year.
