CHEM 2230 - ANALYTICAL SPECTROSCOPY Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course will be broken into two sections. In the first section we will discuss different components of spectrometers, with a focus on optical spectroscopy. In the second section we will focus on understanding what we can learn from using spectroscopy and what sort of dynamical processes can be observed with different spectroscopic techniques. Topics to be covered include: spectrometer design, selection rules, line shapes, time-dependent perturbation theory, and the time-dependent approach to spectroscopy.
