PUBHLT 0431 - UNDERSTANDING AND INTERPRETING HEALTH RESEARCH Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course provides an introduction to the fundamental definitions, principles, concepts, methods and critical thinking used in research in the health sciences. The course is directed towards individuals with little or no experience in research. Lectures and discussion material will highlight and emphasize key components of the research process, including planning, design, methodological approaches, analysis, synthesis, publication, and peer review. At the end of this course, students will have a fuller understanding and appreciation of the scope, strengths, and weaknesses of research as it is applied in health and healthcare practices.
