Mining Engineering Certificate

The certificate will provide students with:
- Basic knowledge of the mining industry
- Appreciation of mining’s important health, safety, and environmental issues
- Understanding of the key engineering tools and concepts needed to solve the complex issues facing the mining industry
- Recognition of the need for a commitment to high standards, a disciplined process, and professionalism

Undergraduate Mining Courses
All undergraduate certificate students are required to complete three courses from the list below as well as two department specific courses to receive an undergraduate Mining Engineering Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh.
