Online Master of Computer Science

Return to School of Computing and Information Return to: School of Computing and Information

This 30-credit, fully online asynchronous Master of Computer Science program provides a flexible pathway for learners looking to strengthen or expand their expertise in computing. The curriculum begins by establishing a strong foundation in core computer science concepts and modern software development practices, ensuring all students can confidently engage with advanced material-whether they are new to the field or building on prior experience. As students progress, they explore how to design scalable systems, develop essential AI concepts, work effectively with data, and apply AI‑enhanced tools used across today’s technology landscape. The program emphasizes both hands‑on skill development and the responsible integration of emerging AI methods. Throughout the program, students earn three electronic badges that highlight key milestones in their learning journey. Foundational coursework leads to two bdages, while an elective concentration allows students to deepen their expertise in an emerging area. Elective concentration pathways include Software and Cloud Engineering and Foundations of AI and Machine Learning that allow students to build specialized skills that support their professional growth and future career opportunities. Admission to the program is performance-based, with successful completion of the first required course with a grade of B or better serving as evidence of readiness, rather than relying on traditional application criteria.
