Dual Degree: Finance, MS / Analytics and Application of Artificial Intelligence for Business, MS


The STEM-designated Dual MS in Finance and MS in Analytics & Applications of AI for Business is a 45-credit program that combines advanced accounting preparation with high-demand analytical and AI capabilities. Students enrolled in this program must complete the appropriate number of prerequisites, required, and elective courses according to program requirements, and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. 

The Master of Science in Finance provides students with a broad overview of the quantitative and qualitative aspects of finance, helping them understand what steps should be taken to maximize shareholder wealth. Students learn the technical skills of everything from valuation techniques, to forecasting methods, to the application of the time value of money, to building pro-forma financial statements.  

The Dual MS model provides students with a strong competitive edge by combining their discipline expertise with advanced training in analytics, data management, and applied AI for business. Through coursework in data mining, programming, machine learning, database management, and AI deployment, students learn to generate and apply insights to real business challenges across functions. Emphasizing analytic and AI technical skills, responsible AI use, and core business foundations, the program equips graduates to translate complex analysis into strategic decisions that drive innovation and organizational impact.

Analytics & AI Electives ( 6 Credits)


Elective curriculum includes a mix of business analytics and AI specific electives or preapproved Business Analytics/AI related non-business graduate courses.

Elective courses within the MS Analytics and Applications of AI for Business degree are required to dedicate a substantial proportion of their content to Business Analytics and/or AI related topics, thereby advancing students’ business analytics and AI knowledge while supporting the program’s broader academic objectives.

At least 1.5 credits must come from experiential learning courses. The experiential learning component must emphasize the application of business analytics and/or AI methods to real world problems and require students to demonstrate competencies in data-driven decision making (e.g., through project courses or internships).

At least 1.5 credits must come from courses focused on responsible AI/ethical considerations.
