Executive Master of Business Administration, MBA

The Executive MBA is designed for working professionals who are emerging and advancing leaders who typically have 10+ years of work experience and 3+ years of management or leadership experience. This program blends rigorous academic learning with practical, real-world application, focusing on leadership, strategy, analysis, and innovation. 

The Executive MBA coursework is delivered in a blended format with in-person sessions held one weekend (Friday/Saturday) a month on the University’s Oakland campus, and up to half of the coursework delivered online. The program is designed to enhance your expertise and to build business acumen, analytic and strategic skills and prepare you to be a catalyst for change and lead your organization into the future. Professionals across industries discover how the addition of finance, economics, business management, and leadership skills opens doors to advancement. The program can be completed in 19-months over five terms, beginning in the Fall Term.

Required Core Courses


Required core courses taken by all Executive MBA students. The core courses identified are predominantly the same as the current curriculum for both programs. BQOM 2535 course exists but the name will be updated to remove healthcare from the title as it will be taken by all EMBA students. 

Practicum and/or Consulting Project


Required: six credits of practicum and/or consulting project

Healthcare ARCO (Proposed ARCO in Executive Management of Healthcare Organizations)


Nine total credits are required for the healthcare ARCO. Required healthcare ARCO courses plus three credits of electives. The three elective credits may be taken with cross-industry students. Elective offerings may vary.
