The Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Policy and Management (HPM) trains students as public policy analysts, advocates, and professionals in health policy development. Through coursework, a year-long professional development seminar, a 200-hour practicum experience, and guest speakers and networking events, HPM students build new skills and receive comprehensive professional development. This two-year, 45-credit program prepares graduates for careers in health policy analysis, advocacy, and program management across various economic sectors. Graduates are well-prepared for employment in public health practice (nationally and globally) or to pursue further educational training, including clinical and doctoral programs.
MPH students complete a 200-hour practicum in a practice-based, public health setting as well as an essay or thesis addressing a significant public health issue that uses empirical data and/or valid references to demonstrate their ability to critically examine and synthesize information from existing sources. The MPH program is designed to be completed in two years of full-time study. The requirements for the HPM MPH degree are summarized below.
