This program is a collaboration between the School of Public and International Affairs and the School of Public Health, Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences.
Students are required to complete a 300-hour field placement practicum in a public health setting and prepare an essay or thesis that addresses an issue of public health significance and that demonstrates the ability to synthesize information from numerous sources. The BCHS MPH/MPIA joint degree is designed to be completed in three years of full-time study. The BCHS requirements for the MPH/MPIA joint degree are listed below. Students should refer to the School of Public and International Affairs for the most current MPIA requirements.
- 45 Public Health Credits (6 credits of public health-relevant electives taken in SPIA can be applied to the 45-credit requirement)
- 78 Total Credits
- Practicum (300-hour minimum)
- Essay or Thesis
