Applied Developmental Psychology Minor


The Applied Developmental Psychology minor offers students from across the university an opportunity to learn about children and youth in communities and then apply that knowledge at youth serving organizations in the Pittsburgh area. This minor is for students who want to work with children, youth, or families in a variety of ways and want unique hands-on experiences. All students are required to take at least one course in development and one course with a community engagement element. 

This minor is 15 credits total. Students may double count up to two courses (6 credits) towards the minor and a major. Applied Developmental Psychology, BS majors are not eligible for this minor. Some courses may require clearances to work with children.

 

Admissions Requirements


  • Students must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA to declare the minor.
  • Students must have a declared major at the University of Pittsburgh. 
  • There are no pre-requisite courses required for the minor. 

Graduation Requirements


  • The minor GPA requirement to graduate is 2.0.
