Admissions Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, often in education or a related field
• Satisfaction of requirements set forth in 24 P.S. § 12-1209 relating to good moral character
• Valid Pennsylvania administrative or supervisory certificate (or equivalent): principal certification
• Official graduate transcripts showing GPA requirements (often a minimum of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale)
• Experience requirements of at least six years of educational experience, three of which must be in a supervisory or administrative capacity (as required by PDE)
• Letters of recommendation, usually from supervisors or other educational leaders
• Application essay or statement of purpose describing professional goals and rationale for pursuing superintendent certification
• Resume or CV detailing leadership roles and educational experience
