Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics (STEAM), Online Certificate

Return to School of Education Return to: School of Education

The goal of STEAM is simple: to engage learners in real-world, relevant problem solving that requires a high level of discipline integration. The STEAM certificate supports students in exploring the disciplines that comprise STEAM: science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Through the four courses in the certificate students will develop transdisciplinary curriculum, assessments, and pedagogies for their own classrooms, try out their curriculum, and interrogate their pedagogical decision-making. Students will have opportunities to delve into the theory and practice of STEAM teaching and learning and walk away with curriculum they developed and tested.

The STEAM certificate is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as meeting the requirements for the STEAM PDE endorsement.
