The Master of Education (MEd) program with a specialization in World and Heritage Language Education is a professional degree for individuals who wish to pursue advanced study in the field of teaching and learning world languages. Courses implement a practice-based approach to enhance students’ knowledge and application of particular teaching strategies that have been identified as essential to the field of world language education. The program coursework emphasizes practical application of current theories and methods for teaching and evaluating students as well as curriculum and materials development. Unique features of the program include six credits of practicum coursework and six credits of research methodology.
Full-time or part-time enrollment is allowed, however, full-time students must start in the Fall term.

Admissions Requirements
- 3.0 GPA in undergraduate coursework
- For non-native speakers of English, evidence of language proficiency is required with the following minimum scores:
- TOEFL - Minimum 80
- IELTS - Minimum 6.5
- Duolingo Test - 110
Required Courses (30 credits)
Elective Courses (6 credits)
Students will choose two 2000-level courses in LING, EFOP, TLL, or HHD that are related to the major. Suggested courses:
Comprehensive Requirement
Students complete a comprehensive exam in the last term or second to last term of the program. The comprehensive exam is not included in a course.
Graduation Requirements
Students must successfully complete the required 36 credits and earn a GPA of 3.000 or higher to meet graduation requirements.
