Return to: School of Public and International Affairs
The Global Policy minor gives students an understanding of global policy issues and helps students develop analytical tools essential for comprehending and addressing complex global problems. Practical application is emphasized through activities such as crafting policy memos, utilizing data for decision-making, and connecting with practitioners in the field. By scrutinizing international efforts to date and proposing innovative solutions, students not only deepen their knowledge of global challenges but also acquire practical skills to actively contribute to their resolution. The minor enables students to understand the cause and structure of a broad set of global challenges, with an eye towards eventually participating in their management or resolution.
Potential career pathways for students graduating with a minor in global policy include diplomatic, foreign policy, and international relations roles, security and intelligence work (for government agencies or private firms), policy analysis and research (for global think tanks, research and advocacy organizations), roles in global education, health, business and environmental initiatives/organizations, to name a few.
