Physics and Astronomy is the study of the fundamental principles that explain phenomena in the world around us, the nature of stars and galaxies, and the Universe at the largest scales. This Program adds on additional courses in astronomy and astrophysics to the main Physics major. Additional elective courses may be chosen to suit the individual interests and needs of the student. In addition to the main program, there are also Education and Graduate School preparation concentrations for those wishing to be more specifically prepared for those options. A person majoring in Physics and Astronomy can go on to a wide variety of careers including science, engineering, teaching, medicine, finance, and law.
