Arabic Minor

The 24-credit Arabic minor consists of four language courses, one culture course or one linguistics course, and one elective course. A fifth semester of the Arabic language would satisfy the elective requirement. The Arabic minor can easily be completed with regular Arabic program language offerings. Also offered are English-medium content courses to satisfy the minor elective requirement. Some of the elective options are offered through the Less-Commonly-Taught-Languages Center and the Department of Linguistics, and the rest are offered through other departments across the Dietrich School.

Choose from Egyptian or Levantine
Complete one culture or linguistics course
Complete one elective course
(A fifth semester of the Arabic language would also satisfy this requirement).

Arabic minor additional information
- Please contact the Arabic advisor if:
- you had taken Arabic related courses in Study abroad or in other school that could count towards the minor.
- there are other courses in Pitt that could count as an elective and are not listed.
- you have prior knowledge of Arabic and could test out of language classes.
