PS 1591 - ANALYSIS OF CIVIL WARS Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 In this class, we will learn about the conditions that lead to the origins of internal conflicts (such as the ones in Ethiopia, Syria, and Yemen), investigating the domestic and international factors that cause the onset of these contentions. For the analysis portion of the class, we will learn the basics of a statistical package (Python, Stata, or R), the fundamentals of statistics, and then use these skills to empirically analyze the onset of civil wars.
