BIOST 3025 - LINEAR MODELS

This course is providing an introduction to the theory of linear models. In this class, we will discuss various topics including least squares estimation, the Gauss Markov model, the Aitken model (Generalized linear model), BLUEs, distributional theory such as multivariate normal and noncentral distributions, inference in linear models (linear hypothesis testing, likelihood ratio test, confidence intervals, multiple comparisons), Cochran’s Theorem, sequential SS, and model checking of underfitting and overfitting. This is a theoretical course and requires knowledge of statistical theory and linear algebra.
