BIOST 3021 - ADVANCED STATISTICAL INFERENCE 1 Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This is the first course of the sequence that covers advanced topics in probability theory and statistical inference. This course introduces large sample theories, including basic modes of convergence in point estimation and distributions. It covers several point and interval estimation methods, including the Newton-Raphson and Expectation-Maximization algorithms, hypothesis tests, and their asymptotic properties, with particular attention to maximum likelihood estimation.
