Genetic risk can influence patient decision making, management, and adaptation. Consequently, accurate risk assessment is a fundamental skill of genetic counseling. Genetic counseling sessions often involve calculating risk using a variety of probability and risk models and the process can incorporate clinical and laboratory information to accurately tailor risk assessment for a patient. This course provides hands-on training in assessing risk in a variety of genetic counseling situations, and understanding clinical elements that can influence risk interpretation.
