NURNP 2305 - PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC INTERVENTION Minimum Credits: 2 Maximum Credits: 2 This course provides the psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner student with foundational concepts related to psychotherapeutic interventions for clinical practice. Specifically, the following modalities will be reviewed within the course: 1) cognitive behavioral therapy, 2) dialectical behavioral therapy, 3) interpersonal psychotherapy, and 4) motivational interviewing. The role of the psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner in the provision of therapy will be highlighted. Family dynamics which can influence symptomatology and associated treatment outcomes will be discussed.
