NURSAN 2632 - Nurse Anesthesia Care Delivery in Southeast Asia Minimum Credits: 2 Maximum Credits: 2 This course is designed to provide graduate nurse anesthesia students with exposure to the culture, disease processes and health care delivery systems in Southeast Asia. Emphasis will be placed on comparing health care delivery in Southeast Asia with health care provided in the United States. In addition, the impact of health-related organizations (i.e., WHO, USAID, World Bank, WPRO) on health care will be included. The impact of armed conflict and the recent history of Southeast Asia will be viewed in terms of the impact on public health. Barriers to surgical and anesthesia care in countries such as Cambodia and Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) will be compared to access to surgical care in other Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
