NUR 3284 - INTENSIVE MIXED-METHODS RESEARCH

This course focuses on the development of advanced knowledge and practical skills for applying research approaches that are conceptually and methodologically congruent with the constructivist and pluralistic paradigms (integration of qualitative and quantitative inquiries). This course will build upon students’ understanding of the state of the science about their phenomenon of interest and provide them with the knowledge to determine when the mixed methodological approaches are appropriate for moving the science forward. The course also provides an overview and opportunity for students to apply and critically appraise various types of mixed-methods designs and their corresponding purposes, settings, sampling, data collection, analysis, interpretation, verification, and integration techniques.
