NURSAN 3789 - PHYSICAL DIAGNOSIS- ANESTHESIA Minimum Credits: 1 Maximum Credits: 1 This course offers students the skills required for conducting a preoperative anesthesia history and physical (H&P) exam, identifying risk factors (anesthetic, patient, surgical), developing a relevant anesthetic management plan and writing appropriate post-operative orders. Students will gain skill in interpreting pre-operative diagnostic tests and lab values. Students will gain familiarity with the Electronic Medical Record and charting skills. Students in this course will also develop in the areas of enhancing patient and family relations as well as health screening and intervention. Students will participate in immersive educational approaches utilizing standardized patients and structured debriefing methods.
