NUR 3285 - PHILOSOPHICAL UNDERPINNINGS OF NURSING RESEARCH Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course explores the evolution, fundamental assumptions and dominant themes underpinning philosophies of science. The focus will be on the intersections between various approaches to meta-theoretical perspective, theoretical thinking, scientific inquiry, and knowledge development. The philosophical debate underlying science and knowledge development will be investigated. The current state of nursing science, ways of knowing, knowledge generation models, criteria for causation, and argumentation will be explored.
