NUR 2681 - ADV TOPICS IN HUMAN GENETICS Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This is a 12-week graduate level course that will emphasize the clinical aspects of genetic disorders including diagnosis, current standard treatment, available gene testing and molecular therapy, ethical/cultural issues, support group availability and the state of current research in the field. This will be accomplished using a problem based learning approach with case resolutions to demonstrate the clinical variation of genetic disorders, including the variety of causes, treatments, testing and ethical concerns. This course is also designed to introduce the student to resources related to teaching genetics/genomics and appropriate design of genetic/genomic research.
