NURSP 2180 - ADVANCED SPECIALTY OPTION: ADULT EPISODIC AND CHRONIC ACUTE CARE Minimum Credits: 4 Maximum Credits: 4 This course is designed to develop a foundation for advanced nursing practice in the care of patients with common episodic and chronic dysfunctions/alterations. The student will develop advanced practice skills in patient/family assessment, developing and implementing a nursing plan and evaluating the plan’s effectiveness when caring for patients across the continuum of acute care services. Health promotion, health maintenance, disease prevention and health restoration appropriate to these patients and families will also be emphasized.
