NUR 1170 - NEONATAL NURSING Minimum Credits: 2 Maximum Credits: 2 Students will develop advanced knowledge, assessment, and management skills when caring for the high-risk neonate and family. Emphasis is on fetal and neonatal physiological differences, pathogenesis of common disease states, scientific rationale and best practices for care and ethical issues. In addition, students will have an opportunity for an optional day to observe/shadow in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to explore the role of the neonatal nurse and neonatal nurse practitioner.
