PSY 0105 - INTRODUCTION TO SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 An overview of social psychology—the scientific study of how people’s thoughts, feelings, and behavior are influenced by the actual, imagined, or implied presence of other people (Allport, 1985). Topics covered include conformity to social norms, attitudes and persuasion, stereotyping and prejudice, social judgment and person perception, emotional and motivational influences on social perception and behavior, aggression and social conflict, helping and prosocial behavior, interpersonal attraction, and close relationships.
