CHIN 1083 - MASTERPIECES OF CHINESE LITERATURE: PREMODERN Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course is devoted to the study of Chinese literature from ancient times to the end of the 19th century. Lectures and readings include prose (historical, philosophical and literary texts, legends and myths of the remote past, anecdotes, short stories and fantastic tales of ghosts and love) and poetry (from the book of songs to the poetry of the t’ang and sung periods).
