CEE 1370 - NONDESTRUCTIVE EVALUATION Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 The course introduces students to the most common Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) methods use in civil, industrial, and aerospace engineering to keep structures safe and to characterize materials properties such as strength and stress. The methods to be covered in class are (in alphabetical order): acoustic emission, eddy current, liquid penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, microwave, thermography, and ultrasonic testing. The course will include laboratory demonstrations using YouTube videos that enable students to connect NDE methods to the current practice in the industry. Students from any engineering discipline from Swanson School are welcome to attend this class.
