CSD 2043 - FUNDAMENTALS OF SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY FOR AUDIOLOGISTS Minimum Credits: 1 Maximum Credits: 1 The purpose of this course is to provide audiology students with an understanding of the nature of speech, language, cognition and swallowing disorders across the lifespan. Students will acquire a basic understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of these disorders by speech-language pathologists, and the role of audiologists in early identification and referral. Students also will develop the resources and skills necessary to more effectively evaluate and adapt their communication strategies during audiological assessment, treatment and counseling, in order to ensure the highest quality of service delivery for patients and their families.
