MUSIC 2131 - INTRODUCTION TO MUSICOLOGY Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 The course is designed for all first year graduate students in music and aims to give them an overall understanding of the discipline through a survey of its history, theory, and methodology, and of the writings of major scholars in the field. A series of specific research projects will be integrated with the theoretical discussions, and technical aspects of research such as notation, source studies, sketch studies, criticism, performance problems, and analysis will be covered.
