IE 1013 - MANUFACTURING PROCESS ENGINEERING Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 The objective of this course is to instill a fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes by focusing on the processes, metallurgy and mechanics of deformation in metal forming. To this end, analysis techniques will be developed from solid mechanical principles (stress-strain relationship, deformation and failure) which would then be applied bulk deformation and material removal processes. The course assumes no prerequisites except basic concepts of stress, strain and strength of materials. Academic Career: Undergraduate Course Component: Lecture Grade Component: Letter Grade Course Requirements: PROG: Swanson School of Engineering
