NURNP 2571 - GENERAL MANAGEMENT OF THE SICK NEONATE - THEORY Minimum Credits: 4 Maximum Credits: 4 This theory course builds on the neonatal assessment theory course and assists the students in developing the neonatal assessment skills necessary to function in the role of the NNP in the neonatal intensive care nursery (NICU), particularly in emergency situations. It focuses on the knowledge necessary to resuscitate and stabilize a sick newborn. In addition, the course discusses the physiology of pain and pain management. The course is taught with an accompanying clinical course.
